Year 11 Overview
In years 9 & 10, pupils have been studying the relevant course material through focussed practical tasks (mini-projects). The entire of the GCSE course content has been covered in these two years projects.
Year 11 is spent mostly on Controlled Assessment, and exam preparation.
You have approximately 45 hours to carry out your Controlled Assessment. This may seem a long time, but you will need every minute of that time to:

- Controlled Assessment consists of a design and make project, and is worth 60% of your total GCSE!
- The examination is worth 40% of your GCSE.

- investigate and research the design context
- draw up a specification for the product
- create, develop, model and refine design ideas
- plan and make the product you have designed
- test and evaluate your product.
